 Abstract

We had a chance to select the low dose oral interferon alfa for a patient, and followed the effect.

Case  24 year-old female, she has been followed for Schizophrenia from the age of 16. She attempted suicide by biting her tongue in June, 1999. In November, 1999, when she came to the hospital, she suffered from auditory hallucinations, headache and amenorrhea.

Medicine and Clinical course by using Bi Digital O-Ring Test1)

In November, 1999, the infection of Cytomegalovirus (1mg) and HSV-I, II(1mg) was detected at hippocampus, caudate nucleus, ovaries and uterus. The area of viral inflection of the head was connected to that of ovaries and uterus through the spinal ganglions. Added to psychotropics that had been prescribed, we selected Chinese medicine, cilantro, and oral administration of the extremely low dose of natural human interferon-alfa (150 IU/ tablet) 3 tablets a day for the patient with viral infection2)-5). She was instructed to place the tablet in the mouth and to allow it to dissolve in the saliva for 2-3 minutes, massaging gently with the tongue to facilitate dissolution and effective mucosal contact5). From March, 2000, Vitex(0.15g /day) was also prescribed for this patient.   In January, February, and March, 2000, the positive area of virus infection was smaller, and in May, virus infection was not detected at the head, ovaries and uterus except for the small area of the spinal ganglions of lumbar portion.  Subjective symptoms were improved. At the end of December, 1999, headache was removed, and in March, 2000, auditory hallucinations were also removed. In May, menstration was restarted.

Conclusion

1. The therapy using low dose of oral interferon was very effective for virus infection of the head.

2. The therapy of extremely low dose of interferon is very easy to use clinically because of the very few side effects. Low dose of interferon may be beneficial for the patients with viral infection.

3. It was speculated that the one of the mechanism of the effect was the activation of her immune system through the oral mucosa.
